I'm Fed Up of Hearing About Civil Liberties

E-mail Print PDF

cctvThere seems to be a bunch of crooks and a bunch of 'green party voting do-gooders' that always bang on about breaches of their civil liberties when it comes to the debate about CCTV cameras, ID Cards, and anything else that may, or may not collate information about us.  I for one am fed up of hearing the arguement that it is 'in breach of civil liberties' as an excuse.

It will undoubtedly come up during this election campaign, but surely, if you are law abiding, and live an honest lifestyle, there is nothing to worry about.  My logic leads me to the conclusion that CCTV and Government databases will infact protect me from crime and crooks, and prosecute me if I do wrong.

So where exactly is the breach of civil liberties if I've done nothing wrong and have nothing to worry about?

There isn't any.  Whilst we're thinking about it, exactly what are civil liberties anyway?  I don't think that many, if any, know what they are when using them as an excuse as to why they shouldn't be watched on CCTV or their information stored on a database.

A simple solution here then.  Unless you are a criminal, or guilty of offences in breach of the law of the land, you have nothing to worry about, stop banging on about your civil liberties.  It's just getting boring and tiresome.
