News Anchor Brutally Attacked, Dies from Her Injuries

Posted by Kevin Coy in televisionmedia

Image courtesy KATV Channel 7KATV Channel 7's morning news anchor, Anne Pressly was brutally attacked in her home earlier this week and yesterday, she died as a result of the injuries she sustained.  It is a very sad thing when someone is cruelly attacked in this way, but even moreso when it is a talented journalist and presenter.  It provides a stark reminder of the risks involved when in a high profile position such as those of television presenters, journalists and broadcasters.  Only this week, Kay Burley reported that a man who was cleared of murdering Jill Dando, could now be stalking her.

Watching Baseball On the Tellybox

Posted by Kevin Coy in televisionsportbaseball

ImageAs you will know if you happen to know me well, or have had a good butchers around my website, I am a big fan of the New York Yankee's.  Because of this, I watch a lot of baseball on the television, even if the Yankee's aren't playing.  I've even tried my hand at playing baseball, although I wouldn't even call myself bad... I'm worse than bad, but I won't go into that here!

There are a few ways of watching baseball in the UK, and one way of listening to it, and I'm going to share with you my views and feelings on the treatment of baseball in the UK right now!

Virgin Media: Good Service or Total Shambles?

Posted by Kevin Coy in virgin mediatelevision

ImageEarly in March, I decided that, with the new Baseball season due to get underway at the start of April and my desire to watch as much of it as possible, I'd either need to get Sky or Virgin Media Cable to then subscribe to NASN.  I think it goes without saying which one I chose, not just for the TV, but because Virgin Media has a kick-ass broadband service, and a phone line for effectively free.  Thats all the jazz that swung it for me anyway!

"The West Wing" in real life??

Posted by Kevin Coy in televisionPoliticsElection 2008

ImageThe TV series "The West Wing" ended its sixth season with a deadlocked democratic convention, between fictional Vice President Bob Russell, and fictional Congressman Matt Santos.  This occurred after both candidates were short of the number of delegates needed to be the presumptive nominee after all of the primaries and caucuses.  This resulted in a brokered convention situation.  Well, why am I mentioning this??  It is seemingly increasingly likely that the Democrats are heading for exactly the same situation in this years race to the White House!
